About the wood:
The artist uses only salvaged wood from discarded trees destined to the
landfill or firewood lots. Very often, wood found this way is not readily
identifiable, but can be very attractive in color and figure. Generally,
the trees have been introduced into Arizona as landscape specimens
from all corners of the world with similar climates. This piece was
created from African Sumac, a species native to South Africa.
